The AI Experience You'll Want to Explore

What do you think of when you hear the frequently flung term AI? Some of you may shudder and whisper about robots taking over the world, while others have ChatGPT on standby.

It’s a hot topic. Whatever camp you reside in, one thing is for sure: lots of positive has already come out of the AI abyss.

For example,

  • StorySign translates text into ASL to allow children who are Deaf to learn to read.
  • Google Maps analyzes traffic patterns and accidents to help us get to work on time.
  • A group at Mount Sinai uses algorithms to predict disease and cancer development with a 94% accuracy rate.

It’s not all bad. Another example of AI used for good is Josh AI.

No, I’m not talking about Mr. Groban or the Mafia’s favourite quarterback or a Cab Sav from California. Josh AI is a control for the smart home backed by more than a decade of research and development.

“With Josh AI, we’re offering a simple, magical, and private way to interact with the world.”

How will Josh AI serve you?

You’re living with youngsters who have just mastered Hop on Pop. Or an aging parent who stumbles way too often on the doorstep. Or with a partner who relies on Braille and screen readers. Or you’re carrying three oversized bags of groceries.

How much easier would life be if, rather than touching buttons on the phone or wall, you could simply ask for what you’d like? Josh AI is exactly what you need.

Life opens up when you can simply state, “Hey, Josh, raise the blinds halfway,” or “Turn on the lights to the upstairs bathroom,” or “Open the garage door,” or “Switch on that jazz playlist we listened to in Aruba last year”.

Or, better yet: create a scene that covers all the bases. When you say, “Hey, Josh, welcome home,” all the above ushers you in. You decide what makes life easier and more enjoyable, and your voice activates it.

Other bonus features include sleek, small and barely visible hardware and the fact that it will support up to 100 devices (and 200 with Two Josh One). The only downside may be the need for a licence (Balaklava includes it with your purchase) - which is actually a bonus because it means that there are constant updates and seamless improvements, making it “an unparalleled experience”.

In a world of cyberfraud and identity theft, you may have concerns about privacy with Josh AI. Don’t.

Tim Gill, CTO and Alex Capecelatro, CEO, focus on keeping data and people safe, explaining, “We believe privacy is non-negotiable.”

Here are some features that ensure security.

  • Wake-up words: Josh will only start listening once it’s been activated with words you determine, such as “Hey, home”. And if a family member or a visitor doesn’t know that special command, it will always be ready when it hears, “Okay, Josh,” or “Hey, Josh.”
  • Don’t always want to talk to your home? Touch-sensitive surfaces can be used instead of vocalizations. A simple finger tap or slide will do the trick.
  • Passcode Paradise. Worried that your partner with Dementia will turn the thermostats to Texas-in-the-summer levels? Simply use the passcode feature so that only you can adjust device settings.
